A lovely walk through Delamere Forest

19 people and 10 Italian Greyhounds joined the inaugural walk of the IGs in the NW Meetup group on Sunday, 28 August 2011 at Delamere Forest!

A lovely group of people and gorgeous IGs!  Everyone had lots to chat about – mainly their IGs, and the Italians ran around together and were very well behaved all round!  People travelled from near and far – Runcorn, The Wirral, Manchester, and even as far afield as Preston!  Thank you everyone for coming along and making it such an enjoyable event!

Some lovely stories from yesterday … Geoff & Nancy Wallwork and Jane Derbyshire-Heal met in person for the first time after years of swapping Christmas cards!  My own little Tino (aka Little Ninja Dog) was reunited with his litter sister Winnie who lives with Club Secretary Rebecca Ford.  And we had another unexpected litter mate reunion – Jessica Horn’s Stanley and Natalie Wales’ Aston!

And for some of the Italians it was the first time that they had been with other dogs of the same breed since they were homed as puppies so it was wonderful to see all the Italians getting on so well, running around and playing together so nicely.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and seemed keen to meet up again so I will try to organise another walk before Christmas and post details on the IG Club facebook page (www.facebook.com/italiangreyhoundclub) and on the IG Meetups page on this site.

If anyone is reading this and thinking that you would like to join in but are too far away, why not set something up in your local area!  The Club is happy to help – as you can see the first walk for the NW Meetup was really well attended!
